Rear Bumper Dent Repair and Preparation for Repainting

At Deansgrange Auto Repairs, we recently carried out repairs to a customer's vehicle after the driver's side rear bumper sustained damage, leaving a noticeable dent in the surface. Our team worked to restore the bumper's shape and prepare it for a fresh coat of paint.

The repair began by applying heat to the damaged area, allowing the plastic bumper to be carefully reshaped and the dent reduced. Once the original contours had been restored, plastic filler was applied to smooth the surface and achieve an even finish.

We then turned our attention to the rest of the bumper, sanding the surface thoroughly to remove scratches and imperfections. This step is essential for creating a smooth, consistent base for the new paintwork. Once the sanding was complete, a coat of primer was applied to prepare the bumper for repainting.

With the damage repaired, the surface smoothed and the primer in place, the bumper was ready for the next stage of the refinishing process. Careful preparation helps ensure a high-quality finish and a seamless result once the paint is applied.

At Deansgrange Auto Repairs, we take pride in our attention to detail, helping restore damaged vehicle bodywork and improve its overall appearance. If your car has suffered bumper damage, scratches or dents, contact our team to discuss your repair requirements.
